“Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:14-17

Confirmation

Confirmation is the sacrament necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For “by the sacrament of Confirmation (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285

In order to be Confirmed, a candidate must be in at least 4th grade, and have received or be preparing to receive Baptism.  If a candidate has already been baptized, a copy of his/her certificate must be presented at an initial meeting with the pastor. Please contact parish office to coordinate a time for the candidate to meet with the priest.

Sponsor requirements:  Catholic IN GOOD STANDING, Must have a letter  from pastor where he/she attends Mass with stating status with church seal.  At least 16 years old; Confirmed in the Catholic faith. May not be a parent.
